Real Madrid missed the chance to go top of La Liga on Saturday night when they were held to a 3-3 draw in a thrilling match away to Rayo Vallecano.
The home side stunned Madrid in the fourth minute when Unai Lopez steered home a smartly placed shot and doubled their lead 10 minutes from halftime when Abdul Mumin outjumped the visiting defense to make it 2-0.
Fede Valverde pulled a goal back for Madrid three minutes later with a powerful shot from distance and Jude Bellingham leveled with his seventh goal in eight games before halftime following a pass from Rodrygo.
It looked to be over when Rodrygo then fired Madrid ahead 10 minutes after the break, but Isi Palazon made it 3-3 in the 63rd minute when he stuck out a foot to direct Florian Lejeune's shot past Thibaut Courtois.
Real Madrid pressed for a winner, but Rayo came closest to a winner when Courtois got down to deny Lejeune's effort with the last kick of the game.
Sevilla legend Jesus Navas played his last game in the Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium after more than 700 appearances for the club and Marco Bueno assured an emotional goodbye when he scored the only goal of his side's 1-0 win at home to Celta Vigo.
Celta was the best side in the first half, but Sevilla improved after the break with Bueno firing home from the edge of the penalty area following a corner.
Cyle Larin scored twice as 10-man Mallorca fought back from a goal down to win 2-1 at home to Girona.
Donny Van de Beek volleyed Girona ahead after six minutes before Larin's first goal after a pass from Vedat Muriqi leveled the score before 20 minutes were on the clock.
The game looked to be beyond Mallorca after Muriqi was sent off for a high challenge on Bryan Gil just after the half hour, but they dug deep and Larin's persistence forced a defensive error which saw him score the winning goal after closing down Paulo Gazzaniga's attempted clearance.
Espanyol and Osasuna drew 0-0 in a game where Espanyol had less of the ball, but the best chance of a game that was not one for the neutrals.
Valencia coach Ruben Baraja is in danger of losing his job after his side lost 1-0 away to Valladolid in a game where they had chances, but failed to score, while Aunar Tuhami battled his way to the only goal of the game after 19 minutes.
Valladolid hung on for the win with 10 men after Juan Latasa was sent off with 13 minutes left to play.
