After the Olympics, Shanghai's sports fans can look forward to an international table tennis gala next month.
The 2008 China Grand Table Tennis Championship will be held at Shanghai Yuanshen Stadium in Pudong from September 11 to 14. A total of 105 paddlers from all over the world will take part in four categories — men's singles and doubles and women's singles and doubles. Chinese Olympic champions Ma Lin (men's) and Zhang Yining (women's) as well as Shanghai-native and Olympic singles bronze-medal winner Wang Liqin will hope to rebound from their Games euphoria.
An exhibition featuring the history of the sport with more than 500 pictures and 50 items, including gold medals, will also be held and fans with match tickets can visit it for free.
