Fanjing Mountain Nature Reserve
With a total area of 567 square kilometers, the reserve is a treasure house of plants and wildlife. The reserve is rich in plant resources, with 80 percent of the conservation area covered with virgin forest and other plants. There are about 795 families of plants and 1,955 species, including 14 families and 19 species of gymnosperms, 460 families and 1,155 species of spermatophytes and 123 families of fungi.Established in 1978, Fanjing Mountain Nature Reserve is located in the counties of Jiangkou, Yinjiang and Songtao in northeastern Guizhou Province. In 1986, it was promoted to a national nature reserve and included in the Man and Biosphere Reserve Network of UNESCO.
Fanjing Mountain is the tallest mountain in Guizhou, with an altitude of 2,572 meters. The mountain is not only abundant in rare bio-resources, but also one of the most famous mountains for Buddhists.
