In 2010, Xue and Zhao became the first Chinese skaters to win a gold medal at the Winter Olympic Games in the pairs figure skating competition.Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo are the first Chinese pair team to win medals at International Skating Union events and the World Figure Skating Championships.
