Travel Tips:Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi Province in China's northwest, is recognized one of the four great capitals of the ancient world. With a history of more than 3100 years, the city is abundant in splendid historical and cultural relics. Popular attractions include the mausoleum of China's first Emperor Qin Shihuang and the Terracotta Army. Others include the Wild Goose Pagoda, the Drum and Bell Towers, and the city wall. The city has been a center of Islam since early times and Xi'an's Great Mosque is one of the most magnificent in China. The 2011 Xi'an International Horticultural Exposition, dubbed the "Horticultural Olympics", opened on April 28 and will end on Oct. 22. It is another grand international event hosted by China following the successes of the Beijing Olympics and the Shanghai Expo. The 178-day expo will give visitors a chance to enjoy the beauty of international gardens and architecture.
