Moscow retained its crown as the billionaire capital of the world, according to Forbes latest ranking of the Top 10 Billionaire Cities released in mid-March.
This is the third time in five years that the Russian capital has topped the list, with 78 billionaires worth a total of US$334 billion making it their primary home. New York City is second on this year's list, with 57 billionaires worth US$228 billion in total, and London is third, with 39 billionaires worth a total of US$134 billion.
Compared to last year, which saw Taipei and Beijing rank joint-eighth, 2012's list makes less happy reading as far as Chinese cities are concerned. Hong Kong retains fourth spot, and at the same time, flies the flag as China's sole representative on the list.
