The Confucius Institute in Islamabad, Pakistan is the only Confucius Institute in Pakistan. It has been awarded as one of the best Confucius institutes four times. In 2011, the institute has expanded to 27 teaching centers at universities, primary and secondary schools in Pakistan. Under the influence of the Confucius Institute, Chinese language education has been absorbed into the national education system of Pakistan. The Sindh Provincial Government announced that, starting from 2013, Chinese will become a compulsory course for students above Grade 6 in all the schools throughout the province.

Focused on Chinese language teaching and Chinese cultural promotion, the Institute provides various kinds of exciting and interesting courses for students. In 2011, the Institute sponsored five Confucius Classrooms in four Queensland cities and trained lots of local Chinese language teachers. Aside from that, it saw an 85 percent increase in enrollments in 2011. In addition, it hosted a lot of interesting activities last year, witnessing a 47 percent increase in the number of participants, compared to the previous year.
