Soccer managers make very good money by telling their teams how to play the game, but exactly how well do they themselves score financially?

Highly reputed France Football magazine has recently unveiled its 2012 Football Rich List. Real Madrid's Jose Mourinho is in pole position, gaining a staggering €14.8 million per year from both his salary as well as his commercial endorsements. On top of that, he is the first-ever soccer manager to receive an income exceeding €10 million.

China national team's Jose Antonio Camacho has a spot in the top 10, whereas Diego Maradona, current manager of Dubai's Al Wasl FC, comes in 19th place with an estimated €3.8m.

Since this cup specialist's retirement from the game in 2000, Roberto Mancini has turned the tables and embarked on a successful managerial career. From Fiorentina, Lazio and Internazionale to Manchester City, Mancini has shown his brilliant team-building powers and has always managed to stay on top of the game.

Mancini took over as the manager of Manchester City in December 2009, on a three-and-a-half year deal which provides him with an annual income of about ￡3.5 million. Never one to admit defeat, Manicini can be credited for the team's tight defense organization and being tough to break down. Mancini helped the club to its fifth FA Cup title in 2011, after a 35-year-long drought. During the 2011–12 season, he coached the team to its first Premier League title in 44 years. Rumor on the field has it that the club has prepared a new deal for another four years, Manicini's income raised to a whopping ￡5.5 million.
