Also known as the Switzerland of the Orient, Qingdao is a beautiful port city located in the southeastern part of Shandong province. Embraced by the sea on three sides, Qingdao boasts the biggest beach in Asia. One may stroll around the old town of this garden city to view stunning historical western architecture, or walk along the winding fine sandy beach to enjoy the sunshine and gentle sea breeze.
Qingdao is also home to the mellow Tsingtao beer, with the Qingdao International Beer Festival held every year attracting beer lovers from around the world. The most famous sights include the Zhanqiao Pier, Little Qingdao Isle, Badaguan Scenic Area, St. Michael's Cathedral, Flower-floor, Jiaozhou Governor's Hall and Mt. Laoshan.
