Megalara garuda(梅加拉哥魯達(dá)蜂)
Megalara garuda is a large wasp discovered in the southeastern part of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi in 2011. The species is named after Garuda, the national symbol of Indonesia, a giant bird-like creature. Males average about 1.3 inches in length, while the longest can grow to 2.5 inches, with very large jaws. Its elongated mandible is even longer than its forelegs when it stretches.
