Founded in 1993, Zhu Yicai and his wife turned a small meat supplier company into a well-known major enterprise over the course of 19 years. Yurun Group, one of Top 500 enterprises in China, has become a business group including six industries such as logistics, food processing, real estate, travel and finance. It is one of the biggest meat suppliers in Chinese mainland.
It currently has more than 200 sub-companies spread over 31 provinces. In 2011, the group's total assets reached 35.8 billion yuan (US$ 5.75 billion) and sales exceeded 90 billion yuan (US$ 14.4 billion), up 40 percent compared with last year. With a US$1.63 billion net worth, Zhu Yicai ranked No.51 on the 2012 Forbes China Rich List.
