The number of websites in the world reached a whopping 634 million as of December 2012, and last year alone, that number increased by 51 million, according to Royal Pingdom, a Swedish company focusing on Internet-related research.
Guess which websites have the largest followings worldwide? Businessinsider.com, a U.S.-based business and tech-news website, unveiled its ranking of the 20 largest websites in terms of unique visitor numbers early this month, based on statistics from digital business analytics supplier comScore. Given China’s huge internet population, five Chinese websites have now entered the top 20 bracket.
