The world's largest swimming pool is located at the South American resort of San Alfonso del Mar, in Chile, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) west of the capital Santiago. It measures more than 1,000 yards in length and holds 66 million gallons of water. You can even sail in it. The construction of the pool cost more than ￡700million (US$1,057.86 million), and the water used is pumped and filtered from the Pacific Ocean.
