Spring is the peak season for job hunting. According to a recent report published by Zhaopin.com, a major recruitment portal in China, large cities remain the most desirable places for talents for one simple reason – the high salaries.
Shanghai tops the salary ranking of the cities on the Chinese mainland, with average monthly salaries of 6,774 yuan (US$1,107.22). Beijing and the south China city Shenzhen rank second and third, with average monthly salaries of 6,688 yuan (US$1,093.17) and 6,682 yuan (US$1,092.19), followed by the eastern coastal cities, including Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Wuxi and Ningbo.
Changchun, Shenyang and Harbin, three northeastern Chinese cities, lie at the bottom of the list of 32 large cities.
