The Mercer Group, one of the most reputable management consulting firms in the United States, recently released its 2015 Cost of Living Rankings, with 207 worldwide cities included. The rankings are based on the goods and services frequently purchased by expatriates. Luanda, the capital of Angola, has topped the list for the third consecutive year.
According to the list, Chinese cities occupied three positions in the top 10 and ten positions in the top 30 as the yuan has become stronger. Compared with the 2014 world list, Hong Kong rose from third to second place this year, Shanghai rose from 10th to 6th and Beijing from 11th to 7th.
