Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has been the busiest passenger airport in the world for the 19th year in a row, with more than 104 million passengers flying through in 2016, according to the latest preliminary passenger data from Airports Council International.
Beijing Capital International Airport ranked the second with more than 94 million passengers, a 5 percent increase over 2015. Dubai International Airport came in third place, which flew more than 83 million passengers in 2016, with a year-on-year increase of 7 percent.
Another thing worth mentioning is that China's Pudong International Airport based in Shanghai has entered the top 10, climbing up to ninth place from 13th place in 2015, with more than 66 million passengers last year.
This ranking is based on data from more than 1,200 airports worldwide.
