Financial news provider Yicai has released the latest ranking of Chinese cities according to their attractiveness to businesses, covering 338 cities at the prefecture level and above.
The report was based on the store distribution of 160 brands and user data of 14 internet companies. Five dimensions were considered, including clustering of business resources, capability as a traffic hub, vitality of urban residents, diversity of life styles and future plasticity.
The result shows that Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are still the unshakable first-tier Chinese cities.
Fifteen cities were named new first-tier cities, with Chengdu ranking first, followed by Hangzhou and Wuhan.
The report also released lists of 30 second-tier cities, 70 third-tier cities, 90 fourth-tier cities and 129 fifth-tier cities.
