# China's giant telescope detects largest fast radio bursts sample
A paper published in the journal Nature on Oct. 13, 2021, showed that China's Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST) recorded a total of 1,652 fast radio bursts (FRBs) from a single repeating FRBs source in a dwarf galaxy 3 billion light years away, which represents the largest set of FRB events ever detected.
According to the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the findings show the complete energy spectrum of FRBs for the first time and reveal the basic physical mechanism of FRBs.
