# Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center
Built along Victoria Harbour in Wan Chai district, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center is a multi-functional venue and one of the world's largest exhibition facilities. Since the center was put into use in 1988, Hong Kong's trade exhibition industry has seen remarkable progress. Two of the most prominent events it has hosted are the ceremony of Hong Kong's return to the motherland on July 1, 1997, and the ministerial meeting of the World Trade Organization in 2005.
