"Naan," a Persian-derived term, boasts a long history in Xinjiang. Typically circular in shape, it is characterized by a golden-hued outer layer, a flat center, elevated edges and intricate patterns added to the middle.
Made of fermented dough and baked in a clay oven, naan bread possesses a variety of textures, offering a delightful interplay between crispiness and chewiness, making it one of the staple foods in the diet of Xinjiang residents.
