# Chinese Nebula Awards make a grand post-pandemic return

The 14th Chinese Nebula Awards ceremony, held on May 13 in Guanghan, Sichuan province, near the world-famous Sanxingdui Ruins site, marked the most anticipated and largest gathering of the Chinese sci-fi community since before the COVID-19 pandemic. Leading figures in Chinese sci-fi, such as Liu Cixin, Han Song, He Xi, Yao Haijun and Jiang Bo, attended, along with over 300 participants from publishing, education, cultural tourism, film and television, and animation, as well as related industry associations. Chinese writer Tianrui Shuofu won the top award for his novel "Once Upon a Time in Nanjing" at the awards ceremony, showcasing the rise of young talent in Chinese sci-fi. Other affiliated events and forums highlighted China's development of artificial intelligence and children's sci-fi. The top Chinese sci-fi award continues to enhance the visibility and reputation of Chinese science fiction both domestically and internationally. The 15th edition will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan province, on May 18, 2024, with a planned grand anniversary celebration.
