Yinchuan Forest Park, the last park in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region's capital Yinchuan?to retain entrance charges for visitors, introduced its new free-admission policy for all visitors on Jan. 7. The capital city's mayor, Wang Rugui detailed the new policy in response to a municipal congress member's proposal for the introduction of the policy.
It is estimated that the park's annual ticket revenue will fall by 4 million yuan (US$633,052). The financial shortfall will be bridged by municipal government funding.
Built in June 2007, the park features more than 40 species of trees, waterfalls, an aquarium fish pool, a fountain stage, two football pitches and an outdoor theatre which can hold 5,000 people.
