The 23rd Western China Commodity Fair will kick off in Wuzhong City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region on August 25 and will run until September 3rd.
A series of activities involving trade, cultural and tourism promotion will be held during the event, which aims to stimulate the economy and boost regional cooperation, according to Li Weining, the vice-mayor of Wuzhong City. Li added that the event would include an opening ceremony, the Western China Specialties Show Fair, the First Wuzhong Chef Festival and Western China Culture and Tourism Festival, among others.
The fair, which was first held in 1989, is co-sponsored by the neighboring provinces and autonomous region in western China, including Shaanxi, Gansu, Sichuan and?Ningxia with the aim of attracting investment and enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation.
