Dongjiaomin Alley Catholic Church |
Dongjiaomin Alley Catholic Church, also known as St. Michael's Church, was built in 1901 in the 27th Year of Emperor Guangxu's rule. Dongjiaomin Alley was a special zone for foreigners during the late years of the Qing Dynasty, and almost all embassies were built here. St. Michael's Church was specially built for foreigners residing there; it belongs to the Beijing parish now. The church entrance faces south, and the whole building displays a typically Gothic style, with three main peaked spires and several spire ornaments beautifully complimenting each other.
