Other than repeating his tour at the time, the dance-drama Marco Polo presented by the NCPA narrates in the Chinese way a modern young man possessed by Marco Polo returns to ancient China along his familiar routes, exploring, touching and feeling the splendid and enchanting Chinese culture and social outlook.

It highlights the divine theme of peace and harmony that Chinese people advocate since time immemorial. 'War' and 'Peace' becomes its main clash, through which the invaluable humanistic spirit of sacrificing personal interests for that of nation is eulogized.
Dance-drama Marco Polo is directed by Chen Weiya, who was the director of the opening ceremony of Guangzhou Asian Games.
