Located in the northwest suburb area of Beijing, Fragrant Hills is the most famous park in Beijing to admire the red leaves. From every end of September to the beginning of November, that is the best time to admire the red leaves which are mostly smoke trees and maple trees. The Fragrant Hills Red Leaves Festival was open at October 12th this year and will last for 26 days at Fragrant Hills.

Recommended Routes
1. By Ancient Path
Start from the east gate of the Fragrant Hills and turn left to reach the Jingcui Lake. Walk through the Cuiwei Pavilion, the Shuangqing Villa and the Fragrant Hills Temple to get to the ancient path by which emperors climbed to appreciate sceneries of the mountain. Walk along the path up to the top of the mountain, the best place for tourists to view the red leaves. It takes around one hour and a half to reach the top.
2. By Cableway
It only takes 17 minutes by taking cableway from the north gate of the Fragrant Hills to the top of the mountain, where tourists can have a panoramic view of the red leaves carpeting the mountain.
