Tips for traveling around Shanghai World Expo

Time:
The 2010 Shanghai World Expo will begin on May 1 and last until the end of October. The Expo Park opens daily at 9 a.m. and closes at midnight. Pavilions open from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Last entry to the park is at 9 p.m. Except on peak days, night tickets are available after 5 p.m. for a discounted price of 90 yuan.
Transportation:
The Expo Park is accessible by subway, bus or taxi. The subway is probably the most convenient option because cars and taxis will not be allowed within 500 meters (sometimes as much as 1,500 meters) of the park. Two subway lines (7 and 13) stop at the Expo Park station and three more lines (6, 8 and 9) serve the vicinity. Line 13 is especially for the Expo and free for visitors with tickets.
In addition to the subway, there are 16 special buses for the Expo. They cover the main areas of Shanghai and stop at the park entrance in the Pudong District (Shangnan Road, Houtan and Baliangjing).
Reservations:
Visitors had better to make reservations for their visits to the Expo pavilions and performances. There will be more than 20 reservation desks around the park and 200 reservation machines at the park entrances. Visitors will need their tickets and ID cards to make reservations.
