Now let's take a while to envision the future--- through children's eyes at the China Pavilion. In the aisle linking the first and second exhibition halls, visitors get to probe into "Children's Aspiration" by viewing their paintings.
In this section, the paintings on display have been selected from five-thousand entries. They were created by children from six to sixteen years old.
In their own creative ways, the little painters have portrayed their understanding of traditional culture and their wishes for future urban life.
There is one picturing the Expo mascot Haibao dressed in Peking Opera costume. This is the only painting that tries to link the expo with Chinese opera. It is done by Sun Yifan, a middle school student in Shanghai.
In other pictures, children have come up with innovative ideas about improving our living environment and harmonizing people's relationship with nature.
