Visitors to World Expo 2010 Shanghai will be able to use a free-of-charge bicycle to see more pavilions with comfort on the massive sites.
Visitors will be able to pick up a bike at 60 venues on the 3.28-square-kilometer expo site with a deposit of 20 yuan (US$2.92), according to information from the Bicycle Industry Forum held at the China Cycle 2009 meeting in Shanghai yesterday.
The bicycles will be equipped with a navigation system to show maps and visitor density on the site, Oriental Morning Post reported today. With an imbedded chip in the bicycle, the peddler can check in before reaching a ticket checkpoint to save queuing time.
About 70 million visitors are expected to attend the event with a daily average of 400,000 visitors.
