The five-star New World Hotel Dalian celebrated its grand opening on July 8, 2009, following its soft opening in March.
Over 200 guests including the vice mayor of Dalian witnessed the grand opening ceremony which was presented by Robert Gerber the general manager of New World Hotel Dalian together with all the hotel staff of and its business partners. The Red Poppy Ladies Percussions, a drum group who performed at the closing ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Olympics started the ceremony.This recital was followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony and a champagne toast.
The hotel opened a fitness center equipped with one of the city's largest indoor swimming pools — an oval-shaped oasis equipped with transparent dome lighting, athletic facilities, and professional coaches. Fresh light meals including seafood, salads, fresh fruit juices and other dishes are available poolside.
New World Hotel Dalian is the sixth New World brand hotel operated and managed by NWHML in China. Other New World hotels currently managed by NWHML are located in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Wuhan, Xian, Macau (opening Q4 2009), and Ho Chi Minh City.
