Quanjude's Wangfujing branch and Sichuan Fandian Restaurant's Wangfujing branch are jointly holding a weeklong food promotion from Sept 17 to 23, to mark the 50th anniversary of their founding.
Quanjude is offering 12 different set meals for 2-8 people, priced from 468 to 1,489 yuan. The restaurant will also offer a 12 percent discount during the week on Peking roast ducks in the set meals. The set meals have poultry, seafood and mushroom prepared using a variety of cooking methods, including stewing, roasting, deep-frying, braising and grilling.
Quanjude Wangfujing has also introduced two banquets featuring traditional and modern options. The 10-course Wangfu "Fortune and Longevity Banquet" is for family reunions, priced at 3,000 yuan for 10 people. Highlights include deep-fried duck and prawn wrapped in flour with three fresh ingredients (三鮮佛手鴨), and mashed pumpkin and broth with shrimp soup (金湯海鮮羹). Wangfu "Union and Celebration Banquet" is more elaborate and costs 5,000 for 10 people. The two main dishes are assorted deep-fried duck parts served on a "bird's nest" made from deep-fried potato slices (雀巢鴨寶) and deep-fried prawns (炸鳳尾大蝦).
Sichuan Fandian Restaurant is offering a 10 percent discount on all dishes during the promotion. The eatery has cooked up six set meals for 2-8 people, with such Sichuan classics as spicy pork lung slices, water-boiled beef and mapo beancurd. The chef has also created new dishes such as kongpo prawn ball, black fried walnut with fungus (黑巴菌炒桃仁) and roast chicken wings.
All guests will receive a small surprise gift on Sept 23. Those whose birthday falls on Sept 23, 1959, the same day the restaurants were established, will receive a special gift.
