More than 80 passengers stranded on a highway amid blizzard conditions in Xinjiang have been rescued by Tuesday afternoon. Passengers in more than 30 cars had been snowbound since Sunday on the Tacheng-Karamay highway.
Also on Tuesday, China's central government allocated 124 million yuan, or more than 18 million US dollars to help people suffering from multiple cold fronts and blizzards in Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia.
The disaster relief include quilts, tents, and food that has been provided by the regional government and the Red Cross Society of China.
