Nine days after quake: One city, two stories

More than nine days after the Haiti quake, the European Commission has said about two million people are homeless, and 250 thousand are in urgent need of aid.
The distribution of the aid is seen as the main problem in the country where both order and chaos coexist.
Governments across the world have pledged nearly one billion US dollars in aid for Haiti. Thousands of tons of food and medical supplies have already been shipped to the island nation.
UN peacekeepers and US troops have been helping to keep order around aid deliveries in Port-au-Prince.
Survivors of Haiti's earthquake queued patiently for supplies on Thursday at a vast tent city on a golf course.
About 50-thousand people spend their nights in the makeshift settlements that have sprung up across the city, and food is given out daily.
But on the outskirts of the city, residents of the Cite Soleil shantytown complain they have not gotten any help at all.
Resident, Cite Soleil, said, "We are starving to death, we can't find food, we can't find anything. Where is our help? Where is our help?"
Resident, Cite Soleil, said, "We don't understand why no one comes, we may be poor but we're still human beings."
Meanwhile, with extreme shortages of water and food, street vendors in the capital have marked up their prices. With few other options, many desperate Haitians who have yet to receive humanitarian aid are now being forced to pay these inflated prices.
