The 10th annual China-Russia-India trilateral meeting, or RIC forum, kicked off in Wuhan, in central China's Hubei province. The discussion focused on a range of international issues.
Vishnu Prakash, Spokeman of India’s Foreign Minister, said, "The trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers broadly cover political issues which include UN reforms, terrorism, west Asia, Asia Pacific Regional Cooperation, Korean peninsula, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and so on."
Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, and his Indian and Russian counterparts, attended the two-day session. Besides political issues, the meeting also focuses on agriculture, energy and trade, as well as India's bid for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council. Highlighting the strategic role of China, India and Russia in the political geo-dynamics of Asia, the RIC forum facilitates an exchange of ideas between the nations to promote cooperation in issues of mutual interest.
