We met some of China's best Dance Sport pairs heading into the 2010 Asian Games, and they have not disappointed anyone in Guangzhou. China's enjoyed remarkable success on the dance floor.

To some, the thought of DanceSport being included in the Olympics as a full medal event may seem far fetched...but try to deny the athleticism on display.

Over the last few years, Dance Sport has made great strides towards being included in the Summer Games, including it's governing body becoming officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee. But this here in Guanzhou, perhaps the biggest step of all.

Wang Wei, China Samba & Paso Doble Gold Medallist, said, "We are anticipating the day DanceSport can be included in the Olympics...and we will work even harder. The Asian Games is not the end for us, it is an encouragement for us. We'll be ready if the Olympics come calling one day."

hen Jin, China Samba & Paso Doble Gold Medallist, said, "Our biggest goal will definitely be to win a gold medal for China if the sport can be included in the Olympics."

For now, China's best will have to be happy with the stage they have...and under the spotlight in Guanzhou, they shone. In DanceSport's first appearance at an Asian Games...10 gold medals were handed out in various disciplines...and the host nation went 10 for 10.

Fan Wenbo, China Jive Gold Medallist, said, "Our success is not a fairy tale. It is attributed to our efforts every step of the way."

China Jive Gold Medallist Chen Shiyao said, "I think our achievement consolidates China's position in the field of DanceSport in Asia and the world. Thanks to the success of the Asian Games, I think more and more professional and amateur dancers will plunge into the sport and make a contribution."

And with a growing base...that may just be the case. China has become a hot bed for competitive dance, with an estimated 3 million people taking part in various traditional styles. And it was a packed and educated crowd on hand witnessing their hot-stepping heroes.

Dancesport spectator said, "I think the Chinese dancers music and costumes are very beautiful. And their teamwork was perfect."

"They did very well to bring this honour to China." Dancesport spectator said.
