With an eye on topping the medal table at this summer's Universiade, China is getting ready to send its largest delegation ever to Shenzhen.
The 2011 Universiade, begins in Shenzhen on August 12th, with Chinese Team introduced here in the Capital today at Beijing Sport University.
The 2011 Universiade is the latest large-scale international sports event for China. It will see more than 13,000 athletes from 180 countries and regions take part, competing in 24 sports and 306 events.
The delegation for China will see 505 athletes from 110 universities around China participate in 24 sports and 283 events. China, is looking to improve on it's third place medal table showing at the last Universiade and hope to finish on top on home soil.
The the 26th Shenzhen Universiade will be the largest Universiade ever held. It is organized for university students by the International University Sports Federation...and is also known as the World University Games.
