Preparations for Sunday's Emmy Awards are underway, with host Jane Lynch taking part in the red carpet rollout. We will bring you the details on that, as well as an update on the nominations just revealed for the 2011 Latin Grammy Awards.
Lynch, a multi-talented actress featured on the hit show "Glee," and an Emmy winner herself, is hosting the telecast for the first time. She is maintaining a cool and collected exterior ahead of Sunday's event.
Jane Lynch said, "You know, my brand is that I'm sardonic and it comes from a good place. I want to keep it positive, because it's about celebrating ourselves, it's about celebrating television, which is much more than just the actors, believe it or not."
Last year's ceremony was hosted by comedian Jimmy Fallon, giving the show its largest TV audience since 2006.
Moving on to the Latin Grammy nominations -- Puerto Rican hip hop band Calle 13 leads with a record 10 nods, sharing the spotlight for top awards along with Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin and Shakira.
Calle 13, who have won Latin Grammys in previous years, were nominated for best album, song and record of the year among other categories stemming from their album, "Entren Los Que Quieran."
Rene Perez, singer, said, "We didn't expect this, really. I was telling my brother that I expected two nominations. Although it is a record that I love, I think is the best record we've done, is an album that maybe did not get the same air play that many other albums or singers got and we are a group that goes against the grain, not because we want to, but because it comes naturally and it comes out upstream. To me is a triumph for the art."
Also nominated for album of the year are prominent Latin names Alex, Jorge Y Lena for "Alex, Jorge Y Lena", Franco De Vita for "En Primera Fila", Enrique Iglesias for "Euphoria" and Shakira for "Sale El Sol."
