This time the Banff Mountain Film Festival has brought 18 fantastic mountain-themed films to Beijing. "Fly or Die," directed by Nick Rosen and Peter Mortimer, depicts a bold new climbing innovation of a cutting-edge climber who combines free solo climbing and base jumping, on a quest to master disciplines that will lead to a daring evolution of the sport.
Australia film "Crossing the Ditch" tells the story of two young Australians who battle 10-meter towering waves, massive storms and strong currents to conquer the Tasman Sea, one of the world's deadliest oceans.
And "Life Circles" by Canadian director Ryan Gibb is a beautiful celebration of mountain biking and provides some of the most visually stunning images the mountain sports world has ever seen.
Qian Haiying, manager of Banff World Tour China, said, "Every film we chose for the China tour is wonderful. The films define the relationship between human beings and nature and bring fresh air into the city. Watching the films is just like exploring nature."
The Banff Mountain Film Festival originated in Alberta, Canada in 1976 is held every November in Banff. After each year's film awards, the festival tours the world.
