The show, based on the music and moves of the King of Pop will run 33 shows at the Vegas Mandalay Bay hotel, before taking the tour across the U.S... Before the premiere, Jackson's children, Blanket, Paris and Prince - along with his mother Katherine - got a private tour of the show, played with props, and met some of the performers.
Cirque du Soleil President and CEO Daniel Lamarre said the show is something the troupe wanted to do for a long time.

Daniel Lamarre said, "Michael was a big, big fan of Cirque du Soleil. He went to see all our shows here in Vegas and we have this secret dream one day to work together. Unfortunately it didn't happen so for us we feel now that we have a responsibility to pay him a tribute for an artist that we really admire."
Jackie Jackson said he thinks his brother would approve.
Jackie Jackson said, "Michael loved glitz and glitter so this has been wonderful for him. He loved this kind of atmosphere and he would really give this an A plus, plus."
A Fan Fest exhibit has also opened, and will run through next Wednesday. The display of Michael Jackson belongings and memorabilia - including everything from his awards to his costumes, records and set pieces from his World History tour and his Neverland Ranch - is the first ever such exhibit authorized by his estate. The display - featuring never-before-seen items - will only be shown in Las Vegas.
Cirque du Soleil's limited engagement of "Michael Jackson: The Immortal Tour" runs through December 27th in Las Vegas before moving to other US cities.
