Chinese President Xi Jinping has begun a state visit to Tanzania, where he has held talks with his counterpart Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete.
Xi arrived in the commercial capital, Dar es Salaam, on Sunday. It is the second leg of his first overseas tour since he took office earlier this month.
The talks started hours after Xi's arrival. The two leaders exchanged views on cooperation between China and Africa, and their common development in the new era. They are expected to witness the signing of various cooperation deals by representatives of the two countries.
