Whilst world leaders try to get Syria's chemical weapon stockpile under international control, fighting with conventional weapons continue unabated in Syria.

According to amateur videos posted online, aerial bombardments rained down on rebel positions in various locations near the capital Damascus on Tuesday. In one activist video, heavy shelling is seen in the suburb of Barzeh, while others show plumes of smoke rising from urban areas in Daraya town.

Earlier on Monday, a video online claimed to show a stronghold of government forces in Zamalka on the outskirts of Damascus being razed to the ground by a large explosion.
