President Xi Jinping has arrived in the Indonesian resort island of Bali to attend the latest APEC Leaders' meeting.

He arrived in Bali after wrapping up state visits to Indonesia and Malaysia. It will be the first time President Xi has attended an APEC meeting, since he took office in March. President Xi is expected to meet with many other APEC leaders and is scheduled to make an address at the meeting's closing ceremony.

The gathering comes against the backdrop of an uneven global economic recovery, potential upturn in trade protectionism, the stalled Doha round of trade negotiations, and efforts to boost economic integration in the Asia-Pacific region.
