On Tuesday, hearts will be in mouths, as the second legs of various playoff games take place. And none are bigger than the game involving these two - Portugal against Sweden - which will take place in Stockholm.
Paulo Bento’s squad touched down in the Swedish capital on Sunday night, with a narrow 1-0 margin heading into the game. Cristiano Ronaldo’s late winner in Friday’s opening leg in Lisbon, all that seperates the sides at the moment. Almost inevitably, the tie has been dubbed a head-to-head battle between Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic, although the latter hadly featured in the first game.
Iceland prepare for 2nd leg in Croatia
Iceland will travel to the Croatian capital of Zagreb, seeking a place in a major tournament for the first time ever, after a goalless first leg. If they manage to do so, they will become the smallest-ever nation to reach the FIFA World Cup finals.
And if they are to cause a massive upset and either beat or draw with Croatia on away goals, they will certainly need their top players such as Gylfi Sigurdsson, and veteran striker Eidur Gudjohnsen, to step up and perform.
Here are the fixtures in Europe, besides the two matches we mentioned, Romania will host Greece. Ukraine will visit France.
