In a tense first half, neither side came close to scoring. But shortly after the break Guangzhou’s Brazilian striker Elkeson gave his team the lead. And then in the 67th minute, star midfielder Dario Conca wrapped things up for the Asian champions, racing away to score the decisive second. The Argentine, who was named man of the match, will leave Guangzhou to return to Brazil’s Fluminense at the end of the tournament.
