The Shenzhen Open continues in China with the fifth seed Peng Shuai taking on Jana Cepelova, that game taking place as I speak. Meanwhile the reigning Champion Li Na kept up her defence of the title, beating Nadiya Kichenok of the Ukraine in straight sets.
It was the first encounter between Li and the 21-year old. After a tentative start and a couple of rusty shots, like that one into the net. Li broke first, and easily took the first set 6-1.
Some good tennis in the second set with Li here winning with a smash at the net.
And while the Ukranian battled back impressively to make it 4-all in the second set at one point, The World Number Three was too good for her. Taking the next two games to book herself a place in the last eight. 6-1 6-4 the final score. Winning here with a big forehand down the line.
"When did I play her last? Oh, in 2011, almost three years ago. A lot of things have changed since then." Li said.
