China's Zhang Jun-long was looking to add a couple more belts to his collection. The current WBO Chinese heavyweight champion was facing Indonesia’s David Koswar for the vacant WBA and CPBF Asian heavyweight belts. And the man known as the Dragon King would get a big boost from the crowd, as the bout was staged in his hometown of Qingdao in Shandong Province.
This was the first event held by the World Boxing Association since establishing their office on the Eastern Chinese coast. And the Dragon King did not waste much time taking control of things, after less than a minute and a half, Zhang had his 37-year-old Indonesian opponent on his knees. Koswara tried to get back to his feet, but was unable to.
Zhang takes the bout in only 76 seconds, winning via knockout. The Chinese extends his winning streak to 14, and can now add the two belts to his current Chinese title, but he has bigger aspirations than that.
