Guangzhou Evergrande is re-loading, as the club prepares to defend its Chinese Super League and AFC Champions League titles next season. Evergrande, announcing today...the acquisition of Italian midfielder Allesandro Diamanti from Serie A’s Bologna. The Chinese powerhouse, shelling out a reported transfer fee of just over 9-million-Euros to secure his services.
Diamanti has been with Bologna since 2011...scoring 17 goals in all competitions. He has also won 17 caps for his country, and represented Italy at last summer’s Confederations Cup in Brazil. According to reports out of Italy, he has signed a three-year deal with Evergrande worth 4-million Euros per season. Diamanti will help bolster the Chinese club’s midfield, following the loss of Dario Conca. The Argentine has chosen to return to South America, and join Brazilian side Fluminense for next season.
