New Barcelona President Josep Bartomeu has revealed details of the contract that brought Brazilian star Neymar to the Nou Camp and he has confirmed that Neymar’s father was the recipient of the largest chunk of the deal. However, Bartomeu insists the total cost of the deal has not eclipsed what they claimed to have paid for the Brazilian star.
Former Barca President Sandro Rosell had stepped down after a judge agreed to hear a lawsuit alleging Rosell had hidden the real cost of the deal in false contracts. Rosell said he was unable to reveal the structure of the deal due to a confidentiality agreement signed with Neymar’s father.
Following Rosell’s resignation, Neymar’s father waived that agreement allowing Bartomeu to clear up the issue. According to the new President, Neymar’s dad received around 70 percent of the total 57 million Euros paid for Neymar with Santos receiving the remainder.
