Chinese President Xi Jinping has held talks with Belgian King Philippe in Brussels. During their meeting, President Xi said Belgium was an important partner for China in the EU, and he hoped his visit would help push forward bilateral ties. The Chinese president will also visit the EU‘s headquarters in Brussels.

After the meeting, President Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan visited the Pairi Daiza Zoo in Brugelette. King Philippe and Queen Mathilde personally gave them a tour around the Chinese section, where they got to see Giant Panda, Hao Hao.

The zoo received Hao Hao and her partner Xing Hui from China in February and will stay in Belgium on a 15-year lease.
