Authorities from the military base in Hekou County in China's southwestern province of Yunnan and local police are searching for a soldier who went missing during an outdoor training mission on April 15th.

The soldier was reportedly carrying a gun when he disappeared, but did not have bullets with him.

The soldier has been identified as 22-year-old Chen Xin, originally from Sichuan province. This is not the first time the soldier has been away without leave, but it is the longest period he has gone missing.

A one hundred yuan reward is being offered for any information leading to the soldier's return.
